Wine Cellar Exponati

Three Georgian wine styles, poured side by side steps from Svetitskhoveli

Exponati sits on K. Gamsakhurdia Street in Mtskheta's old town, close enough to Svetitskhoveli that you can duck in between the cathedral and lunch. Instead of pushing one house style, they pour through three different Georgian winemaking methods side by side, so you taste what qvevri fermentation actually changes instead of just hearing about it.

Kindzmarauli shows up on the tasting list next to drier reds, and the room is small enough that a walk-in on a weekday afternoon usually gets a table with no wait. This is a stop for people who want the wine explained, not just poured.

Exponati is a must-visit in the heart of Mtskheta. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the wine is excellent, and the service really stands out. Ani was especially lovely—so passionate and welcoming, she made the whole experience feel extra special. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!!!!

Amazing service, the most wonderful employee explaining all the processes. The wine was out of this world tasty. If you can get your hands on a bottle, DO IT !!!! My favourite was Kindzmarauli !!

Incredible wine! We wondered on down the stairs and received a friendly welcome. We asked for a wine tasting - they said it was free. They gave us generous tastes of 4 wines and a chacha. We looked around to see the Georgian wine method (see pictures), including a cave that stored the vintage wine. Great place to taste and discover Georgian wine. We bought a bottle and oak aged chacha and are very happy.
