A wood-fired pizzeria hiding inside a sports club

Two friends gutted the old MTV Bamberg canteen and put a wood-fired oven where the club's Gaststätte used to be. The result is Ristorante Milano, pizza baked hot and fast, plus fresh pasta, in a room built for post-match dinners.

The lunch menu is aimed squarely at the club's regulars and anyone from Bamberg Ost who wanders in. No chain backing, just the two owners running the kitchen themselves.

We spontaneously decided to eat here yesterday and, despite it being a Friday evening and a last-minute reservation, we still managed to get a table for five. The food was delicious, with something for everyone. They offer various types of pizza, wraps, and burgers, as well as schnitzel and other daily specials (including fish and plenty of vegetarian options). They also have a cocktail menu. I had the falafel plate, and everything was very tasty and fresh. Unfortunately, I didn't have time for the wraps, but I had them for breakfast this morning. Our little daughter was also warmly welcomed and immediately given a highchair and a bowl of hot water to warm up her baby food. We never had to wait long and were always served very politely and attentively.

I had a Bacon Hamburger and French fries. The burger was fabulous, well seasoned and juicy to the last bite. The fries were perfect. Very friendly personnel who very much enjoyed providing for a wonderful atmosphere and serving à fabulous meal. I will be returning in the near future. Highly recommend for everyone.
