French cooking from a chef Bamberg already trusts

French food is rare on Franconian menus, which is exactly why Börr stands out on the Obere Sandstraße. Chef Michael Melber built it as a second, French-focused project alongside Die Küche, which he still runs a few doors down.

The wine list runs alongside the kitchen, matched to dishes Bamberg hasn't really seen before. Börr sits in the stretch of the old town that's turned into the city's densest run of new bars and restaurants, in the space that used to be Vita.

A very nice restaurant with delicious, typical French dishes and elegant interior design. Truly something special. The service was excellent. We were delighted. There is no parking on site, as it is located in the city center.

A taste of France in Bamberg 🇫🇷 Finally, a proper French restaurant! I find the cuisine very authentic. A lovely menu and excellent bistro quality. Many classic French dishes, such as marrow bones, escargots, moules frites, etc. It tastes just like in France. The atmosphere is great, and the renovation is very well done. With Jakob, the service is always excellent. Definitely a new highlight in Bamberg for me. A must-visit!!!

During our stay in Bamberg, we dined at this restaurant and were absolutely delighted. The ambiance is exceptionally pleasant and inviting, and the cuisine is exquisite, prepared with great attention to detail. The team provided us with excellent advice on menu selection and wine pairings. We were particularly impressed by the desserts – simply extraordinary and a perfect end to the evening. We truly enjoyed everything. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and hope to return to Bamberg soon to try more dishes from the menu.
