Crellestraße still runs almost entirely on small independent shops, one of the last streets in this corner of Schöneberg to hold out that way, and Popenke fits right in. Scented modelling clay, wooden toys and children's clothing, a tight edit rather than a warehouse of options.

There's a play corner too, so kids have somewhere to go while the adults browse. One room, a short list of things, a shopkeeper who knows what's on the shelf.

Good to know

Open Monday to Friday 11am–5.30pm and Saturday 11am–3pm.
There is a play corner, so bringing the child along is the point rather than a problem.
