A refined tasting menu, worn casually near Tempelhofer Feld
Burro Unchained runs a three- or four-course tasting menu that shifts with the seasons, refined without the stiffness that usually comes with it. The wine list sticks to small-batch European and natural producers.
A few steps from Tempelhofer Feld in Neukölln's Schillerkiez, open Tuesday through Sunday.

An amazing experience from start to finish! The 4-course menu was not only delicious but also great value for money. Every dish was well thought out, and the cocktails were simply outstanding—definitely a highlight of the evening. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the service strikes the perfect balance between friendly and attentive. A particularly lovely touch was the birthday dessert with a candle, which they remembered from the reservation—such attention to detail made the night feel extra special. Would absolutely come back!

We went in just to try one of the plates, so cannot give a full review on the whole tasting experience, but what I can tell you is that the lamb fillet with polenta was to die for. Thank you to whole the staff, and I'll be back in the future to try them all.

I visited BURRO UNCHAINED last week with my partner and chose the vegetarian menu. I really must say this was one of the best experiences I had in the last months in Berlin. Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere, beautifully designed. The vegetarian dishes were absolutely delicious - I would come back for it any second: 10 of 10 for me. As my partner had the meat option, I also had a try of it. A solid 9 of 10 for the non veggie dishes. Totally worth the money for what is offered!

I had had cocktails here once and heard the food was good so I went to try it. Unfortunately, I have to conclude that Berlin is not the city for Latin American food, because it was quite disappointing. The service was very sub par (Berlin classic), the food was presented beautifully but lacked any complexity of flavor. The amuse-bouche was the only item that made me feel like I couldn't recreate this at home. The ingredients were very interestingly paired but the taste was often one-note (e.g. the octopus main dish tasted almost exclusively of the tomato based sauce). I also expected there to be more mezcal on the cocktail list. The atmosphere was okay, but the pendant light hanging from every table was clearly meant to take really great food photos and was quite weird lighting to be able to see my dining companion.
