Meze, conversation and wine, the Greek kafenio way
Solomon Papadopoulos and Alex Vezakiadis built Fíle Ásto around the Greek kafenio tradition: meze, conversation and a glass of wine, nothing rushed. No reservations at the original Kollwitzkiez bistro.
A second location followed in Kreuzberg, a full taverna this time, and that one does take bookings if the walk-in version isn't your style.

Cute little tapas style Greek place I checked out the other day with a friend. The waiter was extremely friendly and wonderfully quirky. Helped us with the menu and was attentive. The interior of the place is really cool minimal but with purpose and I really enjoy the imagery. The food was pretty good nothing crazy special but good for groups or people who love to share. I would say that their lasagne type dish I ordered could be a bit more hot maybe I’m wrong but I like it fresh and steaming. Would return again!

Food was fine, but it's a pity they only serve appetizers here (you have to go to their new taverna in Kreuzberg for main meat/fish dishes). The service was also rather slow-paced. It’s disappointing that no Greek beer is offered here; the Negroni was overpriced for the mediocre taste. Overall, room for improvement.

So the food is very good. I am greek i know for sure. The service also very nice. BUT the portions are too small. I tried meat and fish. The size was just not decent. For a man you might need 3 of them and costs 16 euros each. Make the portions decent and i will become a regular.

We had a wonderful experience at the Greek restaurant File Asto. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the wine excellent, and the food deeply comforting. The cooked dishes were rich and satisfying, while the taffas dishes were fresh and vibrant. Everything felt thoughtful and genuine, a place that invites you to slow down and enjoy. Even though we do not live in Berlin, this is a place we will remember and be happy to return to. It was the most pleasant and delicious place we visited in Germany.

A fun neighborhood Greek spot, perfect for sharing a few delicious homemade meze with friends. The taramasalata was rich and briny, the tzatziki fresh and tangy, both absolutely on point! Super laid-back atmosphere, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. Felt like a mini break at a tavern right in Kollwitzkiez. Can’t wait to come back!
