Thai home cooking built on wartime scarcity, not spice-rack trends

Don Santaniviboo built RRAM's menu around Thai home cooking from before the war, recipes shaped by what was scarce and what was in season rather than what looks good on a menu. Som tam lao and panaeng moo are the ones to order.

Weeknights it's dinner only, Monday through Thursday. Weekends open it up to lunch too, for anyone who missed it during the week.

Yes. The reviews are 109% correct. The food is mega. Don’t think standard thai. It’s def more ISAN NORTH THAI. service is more than amazing. All superb. Dishes are very very small. I’m not a big eater. But they are small especially for the price range. But it doesn’t matter as the intensity of the served dishes is brilliant. I can recommend the guys for special events. It’s on the upper range but for taste and service TOP. thank you dear RRAM TEAM. I COME BACK.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had outside of Thailand. They said they worked on their supply from Thailand for years before they were ready to open. I think that says it all. Every dish we had was flawless.

Great Pad Kra Pao and great ribs, but everything was spot on. Great staff and quick service, would come back!

Interesting, unusual dishes and menu – not the usual you see in Berlin – and a cool interior design inside with the open kitchen. However, we generally found the food too sweet (albeit nice presentation) and the service very slow/inattentive (we waited to order our food for a long time, so long that we had to go inside to ask if we could please order). Perhaps this is all the growing pains of a new, busy restaurant (hence 4 stars not 3). If so, I hope this feedback will be integrated and that we change our mind, should we come back in the future!
