Bar, club, and living room, all in one basement on Münsterplatz.
Musikbar Freiburg took over the basement of the Kornhaus on Münsterplatz, the same rooms where the club Schneerot used to run. Freiburg restaurateurs Armin Schäfer and Bernd Winkler opened it in January 2025.
Seating stretches for a few hundred people, and the music program shifts night to night: DJ sets one evening, schlager nights the next.

The music bar is pretty good. We went there for the first time yesterday. Entry was €5, but we got free spaghetti 🍝. It was really delicious! The music was more of an old-school style, and the clientele was mostly older. What bothers me, though, is the price of a glass of Jack and Coke. A whole €12... I think that's outrageously expensive!

A real flashback to H3 and UV!!!! Awesome DJ with great music from the 80s and 90s. It was so much fun, we danced a lot, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Finally, a real bright spot in Freiburg's nightlife. We'll definitely be back! 😁

Finally, a place where a more mature crowd is welcome! Centrally located and a friendly atmosphere. Great price of €7, and I was even able to leave my coat at the cloakroom. Friendly service with beautifully presented drinks. Presentation matters! You can see that attention to detail is key. And the prices are fantastic. A successful concept! A week ago, I visited the newly opened music bar with my 21-year-old granddaughter. We felt very comfortable from beginning to end. The 1950s-style decor is very inviting. It's not just for us older folks; my granddaughter also found it incredibly cozy. These two Freiburg stalwarts have always had a knack for enriching Freiburg's nightlife. All their venues were unique, and you can feel the attention to detail in the music bar as well. The music was varied, the dance floor was packed, and the guests were in good spirits and knew all the lyrics by heart. In short, a great atmosphere. The prices are also quite reasonable, and there's only an entrance fee for special events. I wish Armin and Bernd continued success with this wonderful venue. 5 stars!
