The glass front at Café L'Artisan lets you watch baguettes, tarts, quiches, macarons and éclairs come straight out of the oven. Both the flour and the butter are shipped in from France rather than sourced locally, on the Eppendorfer Weg in Hoheluft.

It's a straightforward daytime bakery-café built for the neighbourhood's morning coffee-and-pastry routine, not a sit-down restaurant.

Super cute new French patisserie which I visited the first time today. The croissant was spot on, crispy and fluffy at the same time. Its flavour was well balanced (not too buttery). The madeleine was very soft and not too sweet what I prefer. I missed the pain au chocolat. I think there's definitely potential for creating a tasty pain au chocolat :) Hopefully, it will be on the menu soon ;)

If you are a foodie and know for sure how the authentic French pastries look and taste - you will be disappointed. I have tried minimum 50% of the selection during my 3 visits - and even though it looks special and promising - from the taste perspective it’s below the average. It’s really sad since you see how much was invested in the place - staff, design, service, location etc… For Germany it could be “wow-omg-etc” but I am not German, my standards in that area are much higher. Obviously the place could survive only in the city centre so the prices are fully understandable, having said that - based on what you get you feel ripped off. Service is stunning, very cosy, good coffee but it’s definitely better to go to Paris rather than trying to find a decent dessert in Hamburg

My favorite spot to go to when looking for the best croissant in town! Every single pastry I’ve tried in here tasted amazing. I would give it 10 stars if I could!

We had such a lovely experience here. Yesterday, we came hoping to buy a particular cake , but unfortunately it wasn’t fully finished yet as the decoration had not been completed. Instead of selling us a product that wasn’t ready, the team preferred to maintain their quality standards and kindly explained the situation. To our surprise, they offered us a taste of the cake, and it was absolutely delicious! Not only was the cake amazing, but the gesture itself spoke volumes about their generosity and commitment to customer satisfaction. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely warm throughout our visit. It’s rare to find such a combination of excellent products and outstanding customer service. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for both delicious treats and a wonderful customer experience. Thank you for your kindness! 😊
