Caffè Credo

Cappuccino and pinsa in the shadow of St. Peter's tower

Caffè Credo sits right on Petersplatz, under the tower of St. Peter's church in Munich's old town. It runs on Italian coffee-bar hours: cappuccino and pastries in the morning, salads and pinsa once lunch rolls around.

The wood-panelled room aims for Rome rather than Marienplatz, and it mostly gets there.

We stopped for breakfast here. The food and portion size was good, the coffee was great, and we were made to feel very welcome here. It was a great start in getting to know the beautiful City! Can highly recommend.

What a great find in Munich for breakfast! Caffe Credo has an amazing vibe, great food, and such a welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Egg Drop Brioche, and it was absolutely delicious — easily one of the best breakfast dishes I had during my trip. The coffee was really good too and paired perfectly with the meal. This is a newly opened restaurant, and they’ve done a fantastic job with the space. There’s plenty of seating, including comfortable indoor seating, and they also have a bar area which adds to the overall experience. If I remember correctly, the owner’s name was Philip, and he was incredibly kind and welcoming. As a tourist, I really appreciated how he recommended great places to visit and eat around Munich. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. The prices were reasonable, the menu was excellent, and the overall vibe of the cafe was just perfect. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Munich
