A neighborhood bar where the slot machines used to be
Franzi opened in January 2026 on Maistraße, in a space that used to hold rows of slot machines. The new owners kept the worn-in feel and built a bar around creative drinks and simple bar food.
Weekends stay open until 1am, long after most of Munich has called it a night.

What a lovely bar!!! The terrace and interior are very cozy. The food was very good (just a bit pricey) and the staff were all incredibly friendly!

Great drinks, lovely stuff and just good vibes! Perfect spot for a summer evening! Book ahead, cause they get full pretty quickly. Trust the drink recommendations of the servers - they were perfect match!

Gladly – a bit more fluid and balanced, as is appropriate for a Google review: We were here for the first time this evening, a group of four. The location itself is truly beautiful, very quiet, and has a great atmosphere – definitely 5 stars from us. The staff was also outstanding. The two servers were exceptionally friendly and attentive; you rarely experience such warm hospitality. Our only minor criticism: During the last hour of our visit, we weren't asked once if we wanted anything else to drink. Our culinary experience was mixed. The cocktails were exceptionally good and definitely recommended. We also really enjoyed the tarte flambée and the mussels. The truffle fries, however, arrived cold and already a bit soggy. The beef tartare also didn't impress us – it was very coarsely chopped, some pieces of meat were still stuck together, and the texture wasn't ideal for our taste. Overall, two of the four dishes didn't quite live up to our expectations, but the others were very tasty. All in all, it's a lovely bar with a great atmosphere and delicious drinks – perfect for a girls' night out. We'd gladly come back, but we would order the food a little differently.
