Wine, art and music where Ju Zwölf used to pour

Coffee and breakfast by day, wine by night, with art and music woven through both. Basil Weinbar & Café took over the old craftsmen's guild building on Palaststraße right after Ju Zwölf's farewell party, keeping the wine focus that made the space a local favorite.

Owner Henry Erbel widened the concept rather than starting over, so Palaststraße keeps its name as one of Trier's better streets for wine drinkers. Regulars who mourned Ju Zwölf found a reason to come back within weeks.

We had the most incredible experience at Basil Wine bar! We decided to host a small baby shower here after being disappointed by our experience at some other Cafés. Basil truly went above and beyond! The decor provided set a great foundation for our own, the staff was extremely attentive and caring-- making sure that we had everything we need and they were sincerely polite and kind. The food was, as usual, delicious! We will recommend this venue to anyone and already plan to host future events here!

A really lovely wine bar. I love coming here on Wednesdays for quiz night. It's so much fun and always puts everyone in a good mood. (And even if you're not a quiz expert, you always know something). The service is super friendly, the atmosphere is just perfect for relaxing, and the host does a fantastic job. :)

This wine bar offers a wide selection of excellent wines and very good cider. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. The food is absolutely delicious.
