Carenage Cafe is the kind of stop cruise guides mention almost as an aside: a small spot on St George's harbour walk where the draw is fresh fruit smoothies, local ice cream and coffee rather than a sit-down meal. It's a few doors from BB's Crabback, catching the same foot traffic of fishermen, market-goers and visitors circling the horseshoe harbour.

There's no pretense to it, just a counter, a few tables, a menu built for a hot walk rather than a long lunch. After climbing the hill to Fort George or wandering Market Square, a cold smoothie on the water is what most people are actually after.

Good to know

It's the easiest pit stop on a Carenage walk, smoothies and ice cream as much as coffee.
Open Monday to Saturday 9am–7pm, shorter hours on Sunday.
