Grenada's Spice Isle claim, sold from a stall
Market Square sits where Young Street meets Granby Street, the junction every walking tour eventually funnels through. Vendors sell nutmeg, cinnamon, cocoa, mace and whatever fruit and vegetables came in that morning, alongside handmade crafts and jewellery. Most of what's grown on the island passes through these stalls at some point.
Fridays and Saturdays are the days to come, when more craft sellers join the produce vendors and cruise visitors mix in with local shoppers. This is a working market, not a tourist version of one, which is exactly why it beats its polished cousin out at Grand Anse.
Good to know
- Saturday morning is the busiest and best time to go. Vendors themselves point visitors toward it.
- Nutmeg turns up in every form here: whole nuts, dried, ground, even nutmeg ice cream from nearby stalls.

Good for stopping in, but does not have a ton of selection. We usually get lucky with some fresh chicken and local veg. They do have booze and most pantry items.

Please do the necessary renovation to this outlet... I was once I there and some cruise ship passengers was talking about how untidy the supermarket looks... I love shopping there but something needs to be done.

Space, reasonably parking space, wide variety of products. Delivery to near by areas. Definitely a top contender for Grenada most modern supermarket.

Foodland Market Square It is stocked with a varieties of food stuffs and most of the required drinks and meat, and other necessities that I use including many other grenadians also visitors who comes to our shores on a regular basis. Not forgetting those living on yachts and the visiting cruise lines. The grocery store is one of the leading supermarket in the island of Grenada. I myself shop there on a regular basis mostly three times a week could be more at times.

It's a convenient place to shop. I'm a regular customer for as long as I can remember. The only disappointment I have is the fact that they have no rewards or special discounts for customers like my self who shop's there daily.
