A cocktail parlour under a jazz club and a thrift store in south Kolkata, built around one long oblong bar. Curry Fwd designed the room, led by co-owner Avinandan Banerjee, and the details reward a second look: German Bauhaus wallpaper, amber light, rubber ducks standing in as table numbers.
Order The Joker and don't skip the sushi or the carrot cake. Two people can eat and drink for around Rs 3,000. Open 4pm to midnight, closed Mondays.

After a series of disappointing cocktails in Kolkata I was happy to find Nutcase. Yummy drinks and excellent service. Our server was knowledgeable and collegial. The fish chanachur is something you must try. The kalojire penicillin and paper planes were very very good. So if you love music, go to Skinny moe’s upstairs from Nutcase. Then after you have a satisfied heart full, quench your thirst at Nutcase. A must in city of joy. Ullash!!!

Had a wonderful time today at Nutcase. Went in solo, sat at the very spacious bar and had 3 stellar drinks. The hospitality is excellent as Bishal and Nairit ensured I had a good time, keeping the conversation and drinks flowing. They suggested the drinks and also got me a taster to try out. The salsa Picante, the Negroni and the chilli pineapple were all bangers in their own right. The ambience and decor is cosy and lovely. Would definitely recommend and I am definitely going back again.

This has to be one of the best cocktails bars in India. Tried classic Negroni and it was bang on point, loved their take on Picante, but lacto fermented chilli pineapple cocktails stole the show, it was just wow. Vishal cooked all these banger cocktails.. Didn't try food options def next time 😃

If you haven't already, get yourself down to Nutcase Etc. A cosy little bar big on vibes and tasty cocktails. A small but well thought out menu with a unique twist on savoury cocktails which taste much better than you would expect. My friend and I had a lovely evening, our drinks hit the spot and the food was a lovely complement to our drinks. A special shoutout to Naireet our server for the evening for his honest drink suggestions and fun conversations. This bar can well compete with its counterparts in Mumbai, Bangalore etc. A perfect place to celebrate winter in Kolkata!
