Maharashtrian cafe food, done quietly

Skip the high-street glow and duck into the plain room near Balewadi High Street. No concept, no theme, just misal, thalipeeth and poha done properly, with filter coffee on the side.

It's cheap and it fills with locals, not the crowd next door. Closes earlier than its neighbours, so don't leave dinner too late.

The kuti project.. by the thought of visiting ibwas surely not eccoted and was pretty unsure abt the place.. Even after enetering it give little better vibes but still not very confident how the food will be. BUT the nachos.. ravioli.. coffees actually turned out to be nice so ot gave a contended feeling. While we were for close to an hour there was power failure with no back up so we could not order many things.. but overall it was really not bad and can dodnt mind if i need to visit again!

Visited The Kuti Project recently and tried their gyoza along with an iced americano—simple order, but a really satisfying experience. The gyoza was definitely the highlight. Perfectly cooked with a nice balance of crispiness on the outside and a juicy, flavorful filling inside. Each bite felt fresh and well-seasoned, and the dipping sauce complemented it really well without overpowering the taste. The iced americano was just how it should be—clean, refreshing, and not too bitter. It paired surprisingly well with the gyoza, making the whole meal feel light yet fulfilling. The vibe of the place is calm and aesthetic, with a minimal, modern setup that makes it a great spot to relax or catch up with friends. It’s not overly loud, which adds to the overall experience. Even though I tried just a couple of items, the quality and execution really stood out. Definitely a place worth visiting if you enjoy well-made, simple dishes and good coffee.

Visited The Kutti Project with my wife and it turned out to be such a pleasant little find. The smashed sandwich really stood out—their in house bread was soft, fresh, and had that perfect bite that’s hard to come by these days. Paired it with a warm cinnamon latte, which felt just right. Simple order, but done so well that it made the whole experience memorable. Pasta was decent too but we would have preferred it Al Dante and a bit more saucy. Overall, a very refreshing and calming experience on a rainy evening!

If you’re looking for a peaceful escape without leaving the city, The Kuti Project is truly a hidden gem ✨ Tucked away in Balewadi, this charming bungalow-turned-café offers the perfect blend of rustic, modern, and artistic vibes. The space is beautifully done with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it super Instagram-worthy yet incredibly calming — like a little retreat away from the chaos of the city 🌿 We went early, which turned out to be the best decision — it wasn’t crowded, and we could really soak in the serene atmosphere and enjoy a slow, relaxed evening. Coming to the food — it was simple, homely, and comforting, without being overly fancy or complicated. Just the kind of flavors you enjoy without overthinking 🍽️ And a small tip — opt for outdoor seating if you’re someone who prefers a quieter vibe, as the indoor space can sometimes have live DJ music which might feel a little loud for a peaceful experience 🎶 And a special mention — the tiramisu was absolutely amazing! 🤍 Definitely something you shouldn’t miss. Overall: 8/10 ⭐ A place you’d go back to for the vibe as much as the food.
