Plated desserts by day, a sweets bar after dark
The technique here swings between Japanese and French without ever picking a side. By afternoon it's plated dessert courses; once the sun drops, the room turns into a sweets bar with alcohol pairings on the menu.
Seats are limited and courses run at set times, so book ahead instead of walking in. Nishitenma sits a ten-minute walk from Umeda, through the antique-shop streets.

We walked in around 8pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Only Japanese menus but the staff were very kind and made sure we understood. The desserts were delicious! Ama was very kind and hospitable. Would recommend

Had the best experience stopping by here for desert tonight. The food was so fresh and creative to see be made. Staff are so lovely to have a chat with while you eat and drink as well.

This is a wonderful dessert restaurant. We were lucky to walk right in without a reservation. The jasmine tea was so delicious. The dessert was fantastic and had a perfect mixture of fruity flavors. The chefs attention to detail was very impressive. The staff were also very friendly. Highly recommended!

This place was honestly one of the best desserts I’ve ever tried, you absolutely must come here if visiting Osaka. Everything is prepared in front of you and they explain the contents of the dish. The staff were super friendly and chatted the whole time as well. An amazing experience

If you’re in Osaka and you love desserts, you need to check out this new gem that’s been open for about nine months. I just had an incredible five-course dinner there. It’s kind of like an omakase experience, but for desserts. The chefs are super attentive and prepare each dish right in front of you. The creativity blew me away. I had duck prosciutto, which I didn’t even know existed, and it was amazing. And the dessert twists: picture mochi filled with white chocolate instead of the usual bean paste, and sakura mochi that actually tasted like cherry blossoms. And then there was this dessert called “Catalana” made with pistachio, something totally new to me, and it was delicious. The presentation was top-notch, and the whole evening felt special. Creative dessert lovers, this is your chance to experience something uniquely Japanese with a modern twist. Don’t miss it!
