Espresso and Oita chicken rice for 380 yen

The torimeshi is why you make the trip: a 380 yen chicken rice from Ōita, the last thing you'd expect at a specialty coffee bar. Naru sits at the bottom of Kudanzaka, small counter, quick turnover.

Yoshida Shigei ran the floor at MIA MIA Tokyo before opening this place in 2025, and it shows in the 750 yen latte. Come off-peak and you'll skip the queue entirely.

It’s the kind of place you like so much that you want to keep secret, but at the same time pray for its success. One of the nicest cafe owners I’ve met. It goes without saying both the drinks, food and place are 10/10. I wished I lived closer to come to naru more often.

Coffee is brewed perfectly, the staff are extremely kind, knowledgeable and helpful, and the vibe is really welcoming and comfortable. Definitely some of the best coffee you can get in Tokyo
