The Canopy opened in Kisumu's CBD on 4 October 2025, right across from the Kenya Power building. It's built around live music, with rhumba nights as a regular fixture, alongside shisha and a full cocktail list. Before it opened, that stretch of the CBD was mostly daytime restaurant territory.

It's turned into one of downtown's weekend anchors, drawing people who want a proper night out without heading to Mamboleo or the lakefront bars. Old-school R&B brunches and themed nights have kept the crowd coming back.
