A solid vegetarian menu, unusual for Blantyre's cafés

Mijn Kitchen brews its own coffee. The food menu is artisanal too, including a vegetarian selection with real range. That's rare in a city where vegetarian options are usually an afterthought. It's a family coffee shop with a B&B, on Marshall Road in the southern suburbs.

Small and central enough to draw guesthouse visitors and locals alike, it turns up quietly on most "best cafés" shortlists for Blantyre. It does this with almost no marketing.

Had lunch here !! A tad costly compared to other joints . Service took long , the food was ok . Somehow , I felt that vibrant atmosphere is missing !!

I stayed at Mijn Kitchen for over a week while working at Queen's hospital. It was such a wonderful place to come home to, especially with Joyce there to greet me every day. She really made my stay so special. Food was great, coffee every morning and walking distance to the hospital. Would highly recommend.
