Banapaya runs a simple beachfront setup in Cape Maclear. Fresh Lake Malawi fish. Curries. Burgers. A specials board that changes weekly. The Saturday-night buffet is the reason regulars plan their week around it, with drumming around a campfire afterward.

  Absolutely great food (had the fish curry), in a cosy place with a good view of Lake Malawi. The guys here are fantastic, friendly and incredibly helpful!

  Great place. Nice food such as curries and fresh fish. In the evenings there are occasional drum jam sessions, defenifely worth a visit. Founded by a local who also supports the community.

  We came for a late lunch. And it was so surprisingly good and delicious (had the grilled chumbo). Highly recommended.
