Orchid is the only dedicated Persian and Middle Eastern kitchen in Malawi, set on a quiet residential plot in Area 12. Kebabs come off the grill fresh, and the cocktails are inventive enough that Lilongwe food bloggers keep ranking this bar top of their best-in-the-capital lists.

Garden seating and a veranda keep things relaxed, for an early dinner or a night that runs long. The compound also holds Mwayi Artisan Cafe and African Table.
