88 rooms, three old buildings, Malta's first Ruby

Strait Street used to be Valletta's nightlife spine, bars and music and sailors on shore leave for most of the twentieth century. Ruby Hotels is betting on that history with Ruby Flora, its first Malta property, spread across three historic buildings on the street.

At 88 rooms it's set to be the largest hotel inside Valletta's walls, with an indoor pool, a rooftop pool and a spa. The Munich group is building it with local developer VBL Group, and it's the kind of scale bet that'll change how the strip feels once it opens.

• Not open yet, the group was still recruiting its opening management team through 2026.
• Strait Street is loud at night; ask about room orientation when booking opens.
