Chikooz Café opened on Chemin Vingt Pieds in 2024. It's a small neighborhood spot built around Basque-style burnt cheesecake, with a brunch menu that runs from healthy bowls to loaded burgers. The donuts are made in-house and sell out most days before closing.
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 6.30pm, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. There are only a handful of tables, so regulars know to get there before the donuts run out.

Every time we come here, we’re reminded why we keep coming back. The food is consistently top-notch, the coffee is always great, and the atmosphere is so warm and relaxing. And can we talk about the Basque cheesecake? It is absolutely to die for! Rich, creamy, perfectly balanced, and hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. It’s not easy to find a place that’s this consistent, but this café never disappoints. Amazing food, lovely vibes, and always a wonderful experience. Highly recommend! 🤍☕🍰

Totally recommend Chikooz! They have a wide variety of drinks, each unique and tasty!! The food options are also great. Really loved the chicken wrap and fries. The wrap is home made and infused with beetroot. Super light and healthy. The fries were just perfect!! I also tried their brownie milkshake which was delicious. The best part was the basque cheesecake!!! 😍Definitely worth the hype!!! It’s light, creamy & not super sweet which I really like. I opted for the mango coulis which was 10/10 in terms of flavor & freshness. Overall extremely satisfied with the food, staff and atmosphere.😊

I ordered a cheesecake from Chikooz Cafe for my sister's birthday, the customer service was absolutely outstanding! I ordered the cake whilst abroad and had no difficulties at all, it was such an easy process. They are a really honest business. Unfortunately, I was past the cut-off time for pre-orders when I placed it. However, the cafe still made several adjustments to accommodate me. They totally saved the day by placing a candle inside upon my last-minute request, as I forgot to buy one, it's not something they normally provide but they still came through! They really went above and beyond. I don't really like eating cheesecake from restaurants or cafes as it can sometimes be hit-or-miss. But this cheesecake tasted sooo delicious. I bake myself and expect a certain quality when buying from outside and this cake really exceeded my expectations! My sister loves cheesecakes; she said this is one of the best cakes she's ever tasted! You can really tell it was homemade and made with love. I highly recommend the service!

The best place to eat a cheesecake in Mauritius! And not only, the menu for brunch is very tasty as well as the drinks. The staff is polite and friendly. The only inconvenience is the drive way to the cafe - the road is old and muddy. But the overall experience is great. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in Grand Baie.

Delicious food and great ambience. Came here to study and it was the perfect place. The seating area by the window was the perfect spot for me to drink my coffee, eat a chicken panini and a biscoff doughnut (all of which I recommend). Will be treating myself here after my exam too! 🩵
