Izamal's signature kitchen, now in Barrio de Santiago

Zamná opened its Mérida location on March 23, 2026, on Calle 61 in Barrio de Santiago, an expansion of the restaurant that's run in Izamal's Parque de los Cañones for years before this. The menu keeps the same traditional Yucatecan repertoire that made the original a stop on most Izamal day trips, venado and empanadas among the dishes that made the move intact.

Bringing an Izamal institution into Mérida proper reverses the usual traffic, since it's normally Meridanos driving out to the Yucatán towns for this kind of cooking. Hours run midday only, noon to 8pm, closer to a late lunch spot than a dinner destination.
