Sama Rooftop
★ 4.4 · 374 reviews Fez Opened 2025
Tapas, cocktails, and the medina spread out below
Sama opened in 2025 on the top floor of Riad El Amine, above the traditional Table de Fès that's been running downstairs since 2007. Upstairs flips the script: tapas plates, signature cocktails, music.
Open 3pm to 1am. It's one of the few spots in the Fes medina where you can actually get a proper drink with a view, which is why the sunset slot fills up fast.

I had lunch there recently and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The place is well-maintained with a pleasant atmosphere, and the service is highly professional—attentive, efficient, and welcoming. The food quality stands out: everything is prepared fresh daily, with great attention to ingredients and presentation. Portions are generous and well-balanced, offering very good value for the quality provided. Overall, a reliable spot for a satisfying meal. I would definitely recommend it and plan to return.

Lovely roof top bar, with great views over the medina. Lovely Moroccan wine for 70dh glass. On a side street with very little signage - just ring the bell when you see the Sama bar sign. And if the weather turns cold the riad downstairs is an exquisite place for a drink.

My stay at Riad Ruh in Fes was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I felt the magic and authenticity of the Medina. The riad itself is absolutely beautiful—an elegant traditional house that perfectly reflects the charm of Fes. Every corner is decorated with stunning Moroccan details, and the rooms are simply amazing: spacious, very comfortable, perfectly clean, and full of character. The atmosphere of the riad is peaceful and relaxing, making it the perfect place to rest after exploring the vibrant streets of the Medina. Waking up in such a beautiful place feels special, and the hospitality makes it even better. What truly made the experience exceptional was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. They make you feel at home from the first moment. A special thank you to the owner, Youssef, who is an incredible host. He goes above and beyond to make sure guests have the best possible experience. Youssef is always happy to help with anything you need—whether it’s giving advice about the Medina, recommending great places to visit, organizing activities, or simply sharing his knowledge about the city. His kindness and dedication make a huge difference and add a very personal touch to the stay. If you are visiting Fes and looking for an authentic, beautiful riad with amazing rooms, warm hospitality, and a host who truly cares about his guests, Riad Ruh is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it and would definitely love to come back again.

The rooftop is very nice, and the tacos were super good! Rest of the food was average. And the service was a bit slagging. We had to wait long, received ice cold red wine…And why give (and let) us (study) the whole menu while 90% was unavailable?

This restaurant is in a stunning location for views of the fort and city of Fez. It isn't very quiet because the main road can be seen and heard clearly, but this doesn't detract from the ability to enjoy the surroundings. The staff are friendly, and the food excellent. It takes a while to come, but with such lovely views, that doesn't matter. I enjoyed the kefta cheeseburger. The French fries were moist, crispy and light, and the burger was filled with all sorts of delicious bits and pieces.
