A quiet terrace facing Tetouan's old train station, now an art museum

Riad Ouchak Café sits directly across from what used to be Tetouan's train station and is now the Centre d'Art Moderne, with the Rif mountains rising behind both buildings. The view does most of the talking, people mention the setting more than the coffee itself.

It runs as a quiet, artistic terrace rather than a busy commercial cafe, closer in spirit to Al Ghersa or Borj El Hafa than to the Wilaya chains. Go in the morning or evening, before the midday crowd fills the tables.

  Bit of a gem right next to the CTM. If you've travelled to Tetouan or are leaving and have some time to spare, I can't recommend this spot enough. 30-40MAD for a small but decent set of pastries or cheeses and breads, which come with orange juice and a hot drink. Staff are lovely too, very happy to spend time translating.

  I only had a mint tea. Lovely place to sit, peaceful. Nice inside and out. Inside walls interesting! Pleasant service. Kitten jumped on my lap....after climbing up my shopping bag. Learning fast!
