Café Al Amal

The cafe every Tetouan list puts first
Café Al Amal turns up near the top of almost every list about Tetouan, the printed guides and the ones locals hand visitors alike. That's rare for a place serving simple food from 7am to 11pm.
The formula stays basic: an Andalusian-style breakfast menu that leans on Tetouan's Spanish-Moroccan food history, fresh meals through the rest of the day, and coffee that's kept its reputation strong for years, not one lucky season.
Good to know
- Go for the Andalusian breakfast rather than the lunch menu, it's what they're known for.
- Gets busy on weekend mornings, arrive before 9 for a table.

Best restaurant in Tetouan. Amazingly friendly. Food was delicious and very generous. I was warmly welcomed by Mohammed Ali and his colleagues. He showed me an album of nice photos from Tetouan. Offered me free tea. He was so friendly, helpful and enjoy having a chat to talk about everything. I spent quite some time there, and saved this place for my next visit. Prices are very affordable, many different menus and drinks. He even have me the guest book to sign in . I’ll definitely return back again to this cafe

Best breakfast in town! You can ask for veggie and gluten-free options too. We came back every day to not miss the great food, kind service and delicious mint tea. Perfect way to start the day in Tetouan

I was hoping for a lunch with vegetables and God blessed me with an amazing spinach omelette with a delicious selection of vegetables on the side. thank you God and thank you Si Mohammed Ali! The toast with fresh cheese and the spinach omelette were so good. We also enjoyed the moroccan mint tea and fresh orange juice.
