A beachfront bar in Nibok, and the best sunset on the island

Jules on Deck sits on the sand in Nibok district, about ten minutes' drive from the Menen Hotel. It's the one bar on Nauru that feels local rather than hotel-adjacent, and the house drink is the Nauru Sunset. Some nights bring live music, if enough people show up.

The catch is the hours: staff open and close on their own schedule, unpredictable enough that regulars call ahead instead of just showing up. When the doors are open, the tables closest to the sand fill first, right before the sun drops into the water.
