Jakarta's biggest coffee chain picks De Hallen for its first shop in Europe

Tuku is everywhere in Jakarta. Its first shop outside Indonesia, and the first in Europe, opened in February 2026 in the old Anne & Max on the Tollensstraat, a few steps from the Foodhallen.

The point is Indonesian specialty coffee served the way it is at home, which means beans from the archipelago and drinks that lean sweeter and creamier than the Amsterdam norm. Try the house signature before ordering your usual flat white. The Tollensstraat is quietly becoming a coffee street.

This place is amazing. I come here almost every week and love the atmosphere and people working here. Just like the coffee places in Jakarta and feel right at home in between my indo people. Try the ginger milk! Iced in summer warming in winter

the coffee tasted a bit different from what i've had in indonesia. i think it might be because of the milk. i can say that because i used to drink tuku up to 4 times a week when i was in bali😅 and i've tried almost every item on their menu. the first time i had tuku was in jakarta 2 years ago, so i was really happy when i found out they had opened a branch here in the netherlands. i've been curious since last year and even posted about it, but unfortunately i left disappointed. not only because the taste wasn't what i remembered, but also because of the service. i hope there will be more improvement, especially when it comes to the service. thanks!!!

home away from home.. comfy café, indonesian ice coffee reminds us of home. they have super friendly staffs. during the weekend, can be really full. hope they can open a new branch in Den Haag ☕️

I didn’t know love at first sip was a thing but here I am. Everytime I taste the tea it’s like my mind is blown all over again. Delicious and the staff are super lovely too! A small slice of Indonesia in Amsterdam - Terima kasih!

Pretty much the same Tuku that you would find in Jakarta. The service was friendly. There were not much option for the coffee, even you cannot ask the sugar level, though the barista said that the sugar level is already less than the normal in Jakarta, making the coffee feels stronger, but also creamy like the O.G. Kopi Susu Tetangga. The cafe could afford 20 visitors at the same time. There were also some sort of snacks, like fried banana, tofu and tempeh, as well as banana and brownies and cookies.
