A bakery on the Elandsgracht that does one thing: madeleines

One product, done all day. Sainte Madeleine bakes madeleines from a grandmother's recipe and pulls them out of the oven in rounds, so the shell is still crisp and the middle still soft when yours lands in the bag.

Vanilla is the classic. Chocolate, lemon, orange and strawberry sit beside it in a custom glass case, with a new special every month. A young couple runs the place at Elandsgracht 4. Eat one warm with a coffee at the counter, or take a box for the couch.
