Cocktails written as fairy tales, one story per drink
Bamboo Moon, Mirror Mirror, The Dead Tapster: the cocktail menu at Tales comes as a book of "liquid tales." Each drink is built around a fairy tale or legend instead of tasting notes.
Food follows the same logic, aiming for a table where fantasy and reality sit side by side. Tales has poured on the Schuitendiep since the end of May 2025.

Very involved and thoughtful experience. Each dish is served with a fitting 'tale' that inspired it. The dishes are very unique and taste great. Highly recommend if you are into fantasy/whimsical stuff and interested in a unique dining experience.

It is e very nice location and envirement. You feel entertaint and nurrished the whole time. You only have to bring a partner who can make your table a nice envirement. Just let it go

Came for the Christmas menu at Tales and really enjoyed it. I’m not a big foodie, but I am a writer, so I loved the way each dish came with a bit of a story, mystery, and even some playful, game-like elements. It added something extra to the experience and made the meal feel more than just eating out. It’s clearly a small, hardworking team, and that effort shows. Big kudos to the head chef for keeping the food creative and really really thoughtful. My favourite dish was Ukraine Golden Webs — memorable and beautifully done.

Tales Gronigen was a surreal experience from Food itself to the atmosphere. The presentation and stories behind the food provide such an immersive experience thats supported by the atmosphere. You can feel and taste the passion of the chefs. Would happily recommend to anyone!

Tales Groningen was such a treat! The entire experience from start to finish was so immersive. The atmosphere felt like I stepped right into a fairy tale. The food was excellent and served with beautiful presentation, and the drinks were all so unique and well-crafted. The service was very friendly, and you can tell everyone working there takes great pride in what they’ve created at Tales. I fully enjoyed the entire dinner and highly recommend it! I hope to go back again to experience a new seasonal menu and decor!
