Private karaoke rooms and cocktails on the Poelestraat

Forget singing in front of a bar full of strangers. Duke of Tokyo follows the Japanese model instead: you and your group get a private room, neon walls and hand painted panels, in the old Blokes building halfway down the Poelestraat.

There's a dance floor too, with DJs running until three on Friday and Saturday. The concept won an Entree Award for best new entertainment concept the year before it landed in Groningen, its fourth Dutch site after Amsterdam, Utrecht and Rotterdam.
