Open bakery and sandwich counter on the Kleine Houtstraat

Watch the loaves come out of the oven while you order. Het Brood Café puts its bakery right in the room, so the bread, pastries and focaccia going into your sandwich are all made where you're standing, not behind a wall.

The counter runs from fresh bread to sweet things to filled rolls, with coffee alongside. It's open seven days a week, including a Saturday lunch service, on the quieter end of the Kleine Houtstraat below the busiest shopping stretch.

What a lovely spot for lunch. The atmosphere is great, with wonderful lazy jazz in the background, and it is beautifully and warmly decorated with a touch of nostalgia. The lunch was tasty and the portion size was more than sufficient. Highly recommended!

It's great that there's a bakery in this beautiful spot again! I also had a sandwich there for a great price, with good, fresh ingredients. Excellent!
