Smash burgers in the Jekerkwartier, gone by dinner

The crust is the whole point. Pressing the patty flat on a hot plate while it cooks, a trick born in an American diner kitchen, is what gives a smash burger its crisp edges and most of its flavour. Le Smash on the Koestraat does exactly that and little else.

The menu stays short: burgers, fries, shakes, all halal. It opens daily at noon and runs until the meat is gone, which on a good day is well before closing time.

Absolutely great place, staff and burgers. I saw some reviews saying that the patties are thin - it seems these people do not know what a SMASH burger is. Taste is great, like the better American chains. IN-N-OUT quality (yet total different.)

Nice vegan options. Burgers were tasty, but kinda small. Fries were not up to our taste, wouldn’t buy them again. Service was good.

After cave tour then walked back to town and try to find what to eat finally found this shop as seem not so expensive but tasty although i don't really like to eat burger but backend no regret that really good and fair price. Nice staff and quality food. good to try

I'll keep this fair, since I went for the 2x1 vegetarian burger deal on Uber Eats. I can't speak to the place itself, as I ordered delivery, but the packaging was solid. The food took almost an hour and a half to arrive and still came warm, so credit where it's due, however, tell Uber Eats that fees + delivery being almost 6€ and taking 1h 30min to arrive is criminal (the restaurant was 10-15 mins away from my place by bike). On the burgers themselves, the portion, the ingredients and the preparation are all on point. What's missing is a final punch, that little umami explosion, because I'm certain there's more flavour waiting to be pulled out of these burgers. That's the one thing holding it back: a bit more attention to the flavour and this would be a perfect ten. Maybe a different combination of ingredients. Not quite five stars for that reason, but close. We only tried the burgers, so I can't fairly judge the rest of the menu. Worth it? Probably yes. They aren't cheap, but 13 to 14€ for a burger of this quality doesn't feel like a rip-off, especially in a city where I'm already paying 4-5€ for a small specialty cappuccino.

Unfortunately, it was tasteless ! It seems good but there is not taste , you feel nothing while eating It is overpriced for this .. the meat is very very thin and it is over cooked!! The cook was even scratching it from the grill .. this is not how smash should be The meat is Halal (a star for that) The place is located in the city
