Menswear on the Bredestraat, casual and formal on the same rail

Where casual meets formal is the pitch, and it holds up. A jacket you'd wear over jeans hangs next to the shirt you'd wear under it, no separate rooms for the two moods.

The room is quiet, the staff talk things through rather than push you toward a sale. STIJL. carries the Danish label Les Deux, and it's part of the small cluster of independent menswear shops that has grown up around the Stokstraatkwartier.

Phenomenal service from the two gentlemen behind STIJL from the moment you cross the threshold. To me, Stijl is a shop that stands out in a very positive way; it is exactly how a clothing store should be: tailored service. Characteristic features include the clear layout, the relaxed vibe, and the large wooden table at the back of the shop where you can sit down in peace with a cup of coffee to explain your stylish wishes in detail. After all, there are many possibilities: from suits to T-shirts, and from a slim fit to baggy. The assortment aligns perfectly with the season; they have exactly the kind of clothing I am looking for at this time of year, all displayed with great care and style. I visited this shop for the first time because I urgently needed a suit, and I stopped by at least two more times that same week; that is the caliber of shop. Not because they couldn't help me the first time, but because it left me wanting more. Keep up the good work and see you soon!
