By Ami's daytime café in a savanna-toned Wijnhaven room

The prints are still loud, but the palette has gone earthy. By Ami's third Rotterdam address does daytime only: bagels, pinsa and colourful bowls. Matcha sits next to cocktails, because lunch here is allowed to be a party.

It sits on the Posthoornstraat at the Wijnhaven, a few minutes from Blaak. Thursday to Saturday it stays open into the evening for drinks and bites. Opened 6 November 2025.

I simply wandered by this cafe after having tried to visit another place that was closing. So, complete chance, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's on the canal with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I had the salmon; it was perfectly cooked with some fresh grilled vegetables and sweet potato puree. Beautifully plated. I would have liked some rice or bread, but they indulged me with some bread. Then I had their famous in-house Rolo Creamy Cheesecake. I am not a Rolo candy fan (wasn't allowed these sweets as a kid), but it was delicious. The whole meal was super satisfying and I topped it off with a matcha. I'd definitely come back and recommend it for a chill burger or a more healthy salmon. There are also bites. 5 for perfectly cooked fish. 5 for friendly service: Andre was super hospitable and kind and made me feel at home. Thank you, Andre and kudos to the cook!

We had coffee, pancake, ginger lemon tea and samosas. All the foods items were very good. The ambience of the cafe is very nice and they have a nice seating place outside.
