Crowdfunded sourdough bakery in the Groot Handelsgebouw

Country loaves, a dense rye and focaccia by the slab. All sourdough and all baked in the 110 square metres behind the counter. De Broodhandel sits on the Conradstraat side of the Groot Handelsgebouw, next to the bus stops at Centraal.

The baker had been posting his loaves online for years before a crowdfunding round paid for a real oven. Opened 19 November 2025. Closed early in the week, and the good loaves are gone well before three.

The place has a nice vibes and very central, next to the central station. They have wide selection of coffee and sweets with fresh bread as well. The coffee tasted super. The staff are nice and helpful

Amazing Sourdough bread, well worth the price! They also sell rye flour which is hard to find in the supermarket, and it mentions that the wheat is grown without any pesticides which is a great plus!
