A Tokyo ramen shop's first stop outside Japan

Three broths, no gimmicks. The shoyu stock combines pork and chicken with duck and mussels. Four soy sauces go into the tare. That bowl is the reason the Tokyo original has a following. Rotterdam is its first address outside Japan.

It sits on the Mauritsweg next to Kaapse Maria, a few steps from MONO Japan. Lunch and dinner service with a break in between. Open since 15 October 2025, 18 euros for the four-broth shoyu.

Cozy place with nice, attentive and quick service. There are a number of really good ramen spots in the Rotterdam and Schiedam area which all offer their own regional style of ramen and Tomoharu has taken first place for my favourite bowl in the city. A smooth, delicate and balanced broth, minimal and thoughtful toppings with perfectly cooked cuts of meat. The noodles have both a good bite and slurp to them. I always come along with my vegan partner so they are not short on vegan options. I never sleep on the Agedashi Tofu, I could come here and only order a few bowls of Agedashi Tofu and leave completely satisfied. Also big bonus points to the cold ramen on July's menu, this is one of my favourite kinds of ramen. The Vegan Tantanmen is quite literally the perfect bowl. I hope it becomes a permanent menu item. I would love to see more soy milk based bowls of ramen in the future. So yeah, don't sleep on this place or be intimidated by the line at the front. It is worth every bite, every slurp. Love it here.

Absolutely love this place. I found it out a couple of weeks ago and been 3 times already. The meat tenderness and the quality of the broth is unmatched to any other places in Rotterdam. Perhaps 2-3€ more expensive ramen than the others, but it is uncomparable quality and for sure worth it. Try also the amazing side dishes. Sometimes there's a line outside, but it's worth the wait 😍

Went here for dinner and was so happy we chose this place. We got two ramens (specials) with duck, pork, chicken and egg. We had one spicy, which was not too spicy and both broths were super flavourful and yummy. Meat is nice and tender. The staff is really nice as well and the ordering system is fun! Recommend for date night.

Don’t let the queue scare you away! You’ll be missing out on a real gem! I believe that at this point I can call myself a regular here. Over the past month, I’ve been around three times at Tomoharu with my partner. Since the very first time we tried their ramen, we instantly fell in love. The broth is rich of flavor and consistently tasty! We love ramen and Tomoharu is closest to the experience of having a bowl of ramen in Japan. The service so far hasn’t disappointed us. Usually there’s a queue, but these tend to go by very fast and it’s definitely worth the wait. Thank you for the kind hospitality, we’ll for sure be coming back!

Absolutely amazing Ramen. Can certainly be regarded top of the country. Next to the well-known places in Delft and Schiedam Tomoharu will be added to my list revisit whenever I crave proper authentic ramen. The Kyoto Miso ramen with three kinds of miso is one of the best broths I've ever had, and that includes many in Japan. Deep and complex, so much taste. Same goes for the Four-broth Sio. The toppings are exactly what they should be. Not too much, but perfectly prepared. They complement the bowl perfectly. Also, a solid highball, that's always nice to see. Will certainly visit this place a lot more.
