All-day café with a brown-café feel on the Neude

Coffee, salads, sandwiches and small bites fill the day at Café Claire, a coffee stop that turns into a low-key bar by evening. It's built around the cosy and unpretentious feel of a traditional Dutch brown café.

The location puts it right on Utrecht's main square, among the newest additions to the Neude's long run of cafés. Open daily from 09:30 to midnight. Opened June 2024.

Super cosy! Fast serving. No waiting time - we took the available table without queues. Very friendly waitress smiled and brought drinks and meal quickly. Wonderful view from terrace! We ordered "12 o'clock", consisting of tomato soup, hot sandwich with egg and bacon, hot croquette, butter and "mimosa" cocktail (orange juice + prosecco). Everything was deliciois! Especially tomato soup - I want more. Orange juice in "mimosa" cocktail was fresh with small pieces of orange (not a juice from pack). It was a wonderful time! Highly recommend the cafe.

We came for a quick brunch and it was amazing!! Avocado toast with poched egg and pastrami sandwich, both amazing and delicious! The girls who took our order very polite and friendly! As an extra bonus, very well-made iced espresso! Totally recommended ❤️

The place was well decorated but the portions were small and moreover the desserts were not homemade and really overly microwaved… we could not finish it
