A bar built around cider

Siderbar puts cider at the centre, an unusual focus in a beer-and-wine city, pouring Norwegian and international ciders alongside the usual taps. It sits on Kong Oscars gate near the lower end of the centre.

The range runs from dry farmhouse styles to sweeter and fruit ciders, and staff will steer a first-timer through it. A change of pace from the standard Bergen bar.

Very fun bar and the bartender Karina was great. She recommended and explained all the different ciders. For two drinkers who usually prefer beer, this was a great experience!

Had the pleasure of stumbling upon this place and trying a cider from a producer from Voss who named her cider after “the dream”… it tastes like it too. Semi-dry and just the right balance of sweet and sour. I didn’t know I was a cider fan until I came here two days in a row.

This cider bar is such a gem and we would recommend it to everyone who loves cider but also to those who are not cider fans (yet). The menu offers a great selection of exceptional Norwegian ciders which are unlike any cider any of us has tasted elsewhere in Europe. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was second to none. We receicied loads of information from the knowledgable and attentive bar staff. We cannot wait to go back to Bergen for another glass of cider.

The cider bar served around 60 different Norwegian ciders, with the possibility for servings from tap, several small servings on a plate or by the bottle. The bartender was knowledgeable and service-minded. Beer or wine was served for those not wanting to taste ciders. A great place for experiencing something Norwegian and different - the traditional cider products of the fjords on the West coast around Bergen.
