Folklore-driven cocktails down a Bergen alley
Elven Bar sits on Vaskerelvsmauet, the alley behind Vaskerelven, a short walk from Den Nationale Scene. Its cocktail list draws on Norwegian nature and folklore, backed up by gin and tonics, wine and beer built for talking, not showing off.
The bar's own tagline, "welcome to shits and giggles," nails the mood. It's casual, and the staff know their regulars. Good for a drink before or after a show in Sentrum.

The owner (Connor) went above and beyond for my family’s visit to his bar: made great drinks, brought out a game for our kids, and even called to make a reservation for us at his favorite restaurant. Highly recommend this bar for a round (or two)!

Exceptional cocktails and friendly atmosphere, absolutely worth the visit. Not only is there a wonderful artistic "menu" of cocktails, but Maestro Connor whipped up a specially tailored one according to our tastes! We'll definitely be back!

I found Elven Bar while traveling solo in Bergen back in early July. It had great reviews, and the photos looked promising, but I have to say the bar—and Connor and Nicholas (apologies if I misspelled your names!)—completely exceeded my expectations. This isn’t just the best cocktail bar in Bergen; it’s one of the best bars I’ve ever been to. Everything was exceptional: the location, the incredibly creative and witty menu, the outstanding cocktails, and, above all, the genuinely warm and friendly service from Connor and Nicholas. They didn’t just serve amazing drinks with a smile—they also surprised me with creative off-menu cocktails and thoughtful gifts (stickers, a tote bag, and even a polo shirt!). Their hospitality made an already great experience truly memorable. If I ever make my way back to Bergen, Elven Bar will be at the top of my list. I can’t recommend it highly enough, and I hope to visit again soon.

My go to place for cocktails and a good time. Immaculate service and great quality cocktails and more. The vibe is always carefree and the both the bartenders and the guests always have a good time
