Cocktail bar and dance floor in Bergen's old Garage building

Gin and tonics up front, a dance floor that fills up as the night goes on. Gåsa sits at Christies gate 14, on the corner with Nygårdsgaten, in the space where the rock venue Garage ran for three decades before a dispute with the building's owner shut it down.

Other operators tried and failed to fill the space before Bargruppen built Gåsa. The name nods to Garage without pretending to replace it, and the ground floor and basement layout survives, just with a different drinks list.

  Spacious, cozy, and vibrant pub with good drink options. They have economy, business, and first class wine recommendations on the menu, which makes absolute sense if you cannot decide on what to drink. We had a red business one and turned out to be a pretty decent Beaujolais.

  Good Guinness, decent beer choice in general. Playing Zugly, Turbo, and oyher assorted norwegian punk. 10/10 spot, Garage might be back in spirit. Super toilets as well.

  Large bar, with a basement bar too. Seems to favour rock music as a soundtrack. Friendly staff. Drinks a bit on the pricey side.
