A riverside pub over 30 years old

Den Gode Nabo, "the good neighbour," has poured beer on the Bakklandet riverbank for more than three decades. It's a dark, snug pub built into old wooden houses above the Nidelva, with some rooms sitting on a barge on the water.

Beyond the taps, it serves simple food: cured meats, cheeses, and chili con carne. It also hosts brewery nights and tastings, and it's one of Trondheim's best-loved drinking spots.

Stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to eat. Rustic bar full of personality and a wonderful atmosphere! The staff was also extremely kind and friendly. We orderes the blue cheese toast and the chili pesto toast, both were delicious!

After spending a couple of hours at Nidaros Cathedral and the nearby museums, we found Den Gode Nabo as soon as as crossed Bakkebru and knew it was the place we'd stop at for some beers and food on their floating platform. They have an excellent selection of local beers, and we picked a couple. We also had their beef chili and their bacalao - both were very good. It was cloudy and cool today, but we were comfortable on the river platform; had it been colder or rainy, the inside seating looked really warm and cozy. Very nice place!

One of the best pubs of the area. Exceptional interior atmosphere. You can feel the history and the uniqueness of an old building! Great beer selection!

Staff were amazing! Super welcoming:) Atmosphere was very cosy inside, but also nice to sit outside on the dock. A lot of space inside. When we were there we had a corner to ourselves, which can sometimes be greatly needed. Not to mention, good selection of beers and ciders. We will definetly return:)
