Where the Trondheim coffee chain began, on Bakklandet

Dromedar started here, and this Bakklandet café is still the brand's spiritual home, a small coffee bar among the wooden houses by the river. The chain has grown since, but this room still feels like the original neighbourhood spot.

Coffee is the point here, pulled with care, with cakes and light bites on the side. A good stop while wandering the old quarter.

We chanced upon this lovely cafe in our walk to the old bridge and just had time to order takeaway cappucino, scones, croissant and chocolates rolls, before heading back to our ship. Service was friendly, unrushed, even though there was a line, while our order came quickly. The coffee was tops, and we liked the scones and croissants very much! The cafe is located in a beautiful walking mall.

We’re on a 17 day cruise through Norway and Trondheim was our port stop for the day. We were walking around exploring the city when we came across this lovely coffee shop. It was quite busy but we were lucky to find a cozy little booth inside. My husband is always on the hunt for a good extra hot cappuccino and the young girls working behind the counter were so kind and made it exactly the way he likes it. He also got the blended mocha chocolate drink with a shot of espresso for me. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t packed with ice or blended like a frozen drink like I’m used to but it was cold smooth chocolately and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t get enough of it. I loved it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and even though it was busy it still felt relaxing. Great service delicious drinks and just a lovely vibe all around. So glad we stumbled upon this place. A perfect little stop in Trondheim.
