No countdown, no grand opening, just a Facebook page and a menu that built a following through word of mouth. Erna Cafe is one of a handful of specialty coffee shops that have quietly popped up in Sur over the past couple of years.
It runs 7am to nearly midnight most days, so it doubles as a late-evening hangout, not just a morning stop. The sweets get as much attention on its feed as the coffee. Ask what's fresh that day instead of defaulting to the espresso.
