KAO's menu is one Bucharest's Chinese restaurants rarely attempt: proper dim sum, Cantonese BBQ roast duck and classic Hong Kong dishes cooked to traditional technique instead of the generalized wok menu the city defaults to.

Private karaoke rooms sit attached to the dining room, a sign this place serves the Chinese community and not just curious locals. In the Old Town's sea of interchangeable menus, the roast duck alone justifies the address.

### ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 Stars) Absolutely amazing! We had a fantastic dining experience at Kao. Every dish was packed with flavor, but the absolute standouts were the spicy aubergine and the noodles with beef—both were perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious. If you are in Bucharest and looking for top-tier Asian cuisine, this is the spot. Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent service. We will definitely be back!

KAO was an amazing experience! I have come with my 14 years old son as he is hugely passionate about Chinese and Cantonese cuisine! KAO did not dissapoint! Amazing food, the service was amazing, Rekha was so kind and welcoming, atmosphere was great, good music, overall, felt like home! Will return in 2 weeks! 🤗

I visited KAO for lunch on my last day in Bucharest, looking for a change from local cuisine. The restaurant features a clean, well-designed interior, and both the tableware and cutlery are of high quality. The service was professional and welcoming, and my waiter, Binod, was particularly helpful and attentive throughout the meal. I ordered the “Steak and Scallion,” which consists of an Argentinian ribeye served with a scallion, garlic, and ginger sauce. The steak was cooked precisely as requested, very tender and juicy. The garlic and ginger sauce were distinct but well-balanced, complementing the beef without dominating the dish. Overall, KAO is a reliable option for those seeking Chinese and Asian-inspired dishes in a polished setting within the Old Town.

I am glad to confirm the good rating after our last night’s experience. Everything was great, table service (Rekha was so nice & attentive), entrance welcoming & the food was very tasty. Also, the cocktails didn’t disappoint, so we enjoyed our night so much. Planning to return!

We had a great experience at KAO. Food was excellent, the cocktails were delicious and our waitress Rekha was lovely. Would highly recommend. We would be going back only for it is our last night so won’t have time.
