The bamboo bar that anchors Gros Islet's Friday party

Ask a local where to go on a Gros Islet Friday, and Irie Bar comes up in the first two or three answers, right next to the grilled-fish stalls down the street.

The bamboo structure sits close enough to the water that the street party crowd treats it as a fixed point on the route. The serving window opens at 6pm and stays busy until the small hours, reggae running through the name and the night.

No, no lies. Our trip was supposed to end due to hurricane Beryl as I’m writing this review and I have to say that this gentleman opened up shop and here we are enjoying our vacation we would like to. all I can say is true hospitality great service amazing host great hurricane run, lol all around a great experience!
