Apia's coconut and pineapple cake, worth the trip across town

The same family behind Paddles restaurant branched into cake and coffee a few years after the restaurant took off. For a cafe, it's built an unusual reputation around town.

The coconut and pineapple cake is the reason people cross Apia, alongside the muffins and slices on rotation. Most days wrap by mid-afternoon, and Sunday it's closed entirely.

Good to know

• Open 7:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 1pm Saturday, closed Sunday.
• The coconut and pineapple cake sells out by early afternoon some days.
