Miško Knjižko plays on the storybook mouse in its name, and the whole café leans into it, books lining a space built around a bakery case with vegan options alongside the usual cakes. Regulars call the terrace on Muzejski trg the best in the old town.

On a clear evening it's hard to argue. It also stays open until 21:30 on weekdays, later than most neighbors, so it's a solid coffee stop after the square's museums and shops shut for the day.
